Robin and I bought Brookfield House 3 years ago to follow our dream and run a B&B.
I am a teacher with special needs as my speciality, despite thinking I was going to hang up my books, I have continued to follow my other passion education. My husband Robin is a golf nut and spends his spare time at Ross golf club trying to improve his golf handicap.
Our home is a beautiful grade 2 listed property with lovely original features like pine shutters and doors and large Georgian sash windows.
We thoroughly enjoy meeting and chatting to our visitors who come from far and wide – Australia, New Zealand, Finland, the USA, Canada, Europe and of course the UK.
Our guests come to enjoy the beautiful county of Herefordshire. Ross-on-Wye is the only town in England in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are a short walk from the River Wye and the Forest where there is something for everybody whether you like to walk, cycle, visit the many interesting historic sites or just relax in this beautiful county.
All the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard, extremely spacious and comfortable with King size beds and en suite facilities. Breakfast is served in our bright and airy dining room where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast which includes a home made fresh fruit salad and locally sourced produce (when available) to prepare our hearty full English breakfast.
We have a large, comfortable guest lounge where visitors can relax during their stay. There is a selection of books and games for your enjoyment.
There is ample parking for all our guests and we are only a short walk away from the town centre of Ross-on-Wye where there are a variety of interesting independent shops and cafes.
Brookfield House is well positioned for trips up and down the wonderful Wye valley from Tintern Abbey to Hay-on-Wye.
On our doorstep are the Royal Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat. There are also many other local attractions and activities, a selection of which can be found on the tab above marked Local Area
